Hot Supper Club: Shanghai Special

Lily Neal gave us a fascinating talk of her travels in China. Lily’s daughter was working in China and Lily was privileged to be able to see life and particularly food in China with both the eyes of a visitor and those of the locals. lily’s talk was accompanied by photos and a display of artifacts she had picked up on her travels.

We were treated to a fabulous meal with spring rolls, prawn crackers and dips served at the table followed by pork in plum sauce, sweet and sour chicken and special rice; it seems that the rice is becoming the specialty of Upton Pyne men.

I am delighted to report that the evening received praise from many who attended and made a profit of £300 to boost the boost the Friends’ fund
